The webinar presented the role of urban living labs to accelerate the EV adoption in emerging economies to help deliver global climate and sustainability goals. It highlighted the city level demonstrations to test different types of innovative and integrated e-mobility solutions for shared and public transportation, supporting capacity development, policy advice and replication activities.

About the Speaker

Shritu Shrestha is a senior researcher at Wuppertal Institute within the Urban Living Lab Center - which is the UN-Habitat collaborating Center, hosted by Wuppertal Institute, Technical University of Berlin, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Her area of work is on the policies and planning for sustainable cities. She carries out environmental studies and provides technical assistance on climate action and sustainable transport strategies and implementation in developing and emerging economies. Currently, she is co-ordinating electric vehicle implementation projects across the Asian region.

The Asian Development Bank launched the E-Mobility Support and Investment Platform for Asia and the Pacific, with the support by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and other partners, for bringing together practitioners and to support the scale-up of e-mobility in the region. The platform aims to become a centre of knowledge for supporting a just transition towards net-zero pathways.
